Role Overview:

As a College Intern on the Early Careers Team at New York Life, you’ll be an integral part of the Talent Acquisition organization, supporting key initiatives that shape our early talent strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with internal partners across Internal Mobility, Campus Recruitment, and Learning & Development to help execute engaging and impactful programming. From developing content for internal mobility and fall recruitment to organizing events and drafting communications, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the full early talent lifecycle. Our goal is to make sure every intern, candidate, and employee feels supported, seen, and set up for success at New York Life.

 

What You’ll Do:

* Content Creation

* Design and develop engaging materials for the Internal Mobility initiative, including one-pagers, infographics, and best practice summaries.

* Assist team in conducting research and focus groups to gather insights into internal career movement challenges and opportunities.

* Support the development of educational content for CareerHub, in partnership with Learning & Development.

* Create branded decks, guides, and visual assets to support Fall 2025/Spring 2026 recruitment efforts.

* Communication

* Draft and refine candidate-facing communication including outreach emails, newsletters, and onboarding materials.

* Maintain ongoing communication with university and campus partners to support recruitment events and relationship-building.

* Develop internal communications to promote key initiatives—such as recruiting events, and intern success stories.

* Support storytelling efforts through intern spotlights and program impact narratives.

* Assist with communication planning for focus groups, surveys, and internal events, including follow-up and data collection.

* Administrative Support

* Coordinate logistics for recruiting events, interviews, and career conferences.

* Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

* Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and maintain project tracking tools.

* Update program databases and applicant tracking systems to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting for Early Careers metrics.

What You’ll Bring:

Required Skills:

* Must be a current junior or senior at an accredited 4-year university or college

* Strong written and oral communication skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* Strong organizational skills

* Experience with Microsoft programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Access strongly preferred

Preferred Skills:

* Previous internship experience a plus but not required

* Comfortable working with cross-functional teams

* Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $20 - $25 / hour 

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: No 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
